Nireeksha Women’s Theatre based at Choozhattukotta, Thiruvananthapuram, is one- of -its -kind theatre based at Choozhattukotta, Thiruvananthapuram. Founded in 1999 by Sudhi Devayani (Sudhi C V) alumni of School of Drama, Thrissur and Rajarajeswari E, Mathematics Teacher turned theatre person, Nireeksha aims to aesthetically overcome gender in theatre. If the initial plays of Nireeksha, experimented in creating avant- garde visuals and innovating the body language of the women actors, later shift included very political themes also. Apart from aesthetic experiments in feminist theatre, Nireeksha engages in applied theatre working with different women’s communities.
